Well-being Therapies

“If there is the slightest chance that patients can be educated in the methods that enable them to reduce their own pain and disability using understanding and resources, they should receive that education. Every patient is entitled to the information, and every therapist should be obliged to provide it.”

Coaching

We live in constant motion and in an ever-changing world. As a result it’s easy to forget that we have choices in everything we do. Coaching is about exploring the choices available to us and then making decisions that will help us to develop both personally and professionally. Discovering what is most important to you. Choosing your own path and selecting the experiences you want most from life.

Who uses a Coach?

  • Anyone who would like to make changes in their personal or professional life and is willing to invest the time and energy into making those changes.
  • People who want less anxiety, stress or doubt and more clarity, achievement and balance.
  • Businesses of any size, the Self-Employed and individuals who want to manage change more effectively.
  • Anyone who needs to deal with an ever-increasing, stressful, challenging life and competitive workplace.
  • Individuals from all walks of life.

What does a Coach do?

A good coach will help you to look at the whole picture – with an emphasis on producing action and uncovering learning that can lead to more fulfillment, balance and a greater sense of achievement in your personal and professional life.

In order to get best results a coach will work on a one-to-one basis either face to face or by telephone and is committed to helping you to develop your dreams, aspirations and passions, discovering what you value and what you want from life.

In the coaching sessions you will be helped to tune into the potential of yourself and others and will work with you to help you get the best out of every situation.

You will also be helped to take the steps needed to reach your goals and encouraged, motivated and supported throughout this process.

Most importantly a coach provides you with a confidential and independent ‘sounding board’. A place where you are free to share any of your concerns safe in the knowledge that you will be supported throughout the whole process.

What are the benefits of Coaching?

With the assistance of a coach you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop your ideas and turn them into achievements.
  • Develop your communication, leadership, and time-management skills.
  • Support a healthy balance between your personal and professional growth.
  • Achieve and maintain balance between your values, beliefs and goals.
  • Manage stress more effectively.
  • Develop Self-Confidence

Choosing Your Coach

  • Choosing the right coach is very important so find out:
What is the coach’s professional training and background?
  • Does the coach have an understanding of how you best learn?
  • Do you feel comfortable with the coach?
  • Does the coach show balance between supporting and challenging you?

Counselling

Use the light that is within you to regain your natural clearness of sight.”

Lao-tzu

With certain skills, knowledge and abilities, people are less likely to have emotional problems, relationship troubles or other personal difficulties.

What’s more, once you gain a firm understanding of human behaviour, you are much more able to perform well in any situation. Old anxieties, worries and unhelpful patterns of behaviour will dissolve.

Ross Brittleton aims to provide you with the knowledge, resources and training to help both tackle problems and improve your performance.

For psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, emotional intelligence and personal development to be useful, we feel that it needs to be straightforward and easily understood.

Much of what is available these days in these fields is complex and confusing, requiring you to spend vast amounts of money learning what is effectively a new language before you can use them.

Ross delivers practical solutions to interested people through personal counselling, self study and professional training.

Information, products and services are “practical psychology” as the benefits of using such resources allows individuals to achieve personal or professional goals.

Physical Therapies & Massage

“research at the Cedars Sinai Institute indicates that massage doesn’t only feel good, it also may be good for you,”

Good deep tissue massage and manipulative therapy involves the skilful restoration of mobility to soft tissues and joints using a variety of massage, mobilisation and stretching techniques.

The application of massage as a therapy is based upon a thorough understanding of the techniques of massage, anatomy and physiology. It aims to re-balance the muscles and joints by working on the muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments. This approach makes deep tissue massage a powerful yet non-traumatic therapy. There are numerous benefits associated with deep tissue massage and these include:

Benefits

  • Maintain your body in better physical condition.
  • Improve co-ordination and balance.
  • Mental and physical relaxation.
  • Increased physical awareness.
  • Increased movement and flexibility.
  • Injury prevention and treatment.

Before treatment begins a thorough history and physical examination is carried out to identify postural habits, limitations of movement, strength of muscles, flexibility and general health.

After a history is taken and the patient examined a treatment plan is then designed which takes into consideration each person’s needs so as to return the client to full fitness as soon as possible. The plan includes soft tissue massage and advice on relevant exercises to help in the recovery process.

Manipulative Therapy, Physical Therapy & Massage Therapy are proven and effective ways to prevent, treat and be used in the rehabilitation of a wide range of conditions that result from physical, mental and emotional stress.

Conditions that respond well to treatment:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck and Shoulder Problems
  • Sports Injuries
  • Muscle and Joint Problems
  • Stress related conditions

“…a single massage may deliver a measurable benefit.”

“I spent a long time looking for a Sports massage practioner and Ross is easily the best I’ve found. He has kept a number of niggling concerns at bay for me and has been invaluable with advice.”

Thai Bodywork

“Karuna” – compassion for all those who suffer and a desire to ease their suffering.

Thai Bodywork is quite different from other forms of massage, as firstly you remain clothed. It involves a system of soft tissue pressing, stretching, twisting and joint manipulations.

Those who receive Thai Bodywork regularly will experience feelings of relaxation, peace of mind, happiness, flexibility and youthfulness.

In today’s world we all suffer from increasing stresses and strains and Thai Bodywork is an ideal way to help release these emotional and physical pressures.

Some of the moves in this form of treatment are similar to yoga postures and it is the ultimate “lazy yoga” as a greater level of flexibility can be achieved when aided.

Thai Bodywork is unique in its ability to preserve flexibility and reduce stiffness and so preserve a sense of health and well-being. This makes it ideal for people from all walks of life including athletes.

The many techniques used are all designed to create a deep sense of relaxation and promote physical health. This is essential for the maintaining of a healthy and pain free body not only in the physical but also mentally and emotionally.
